Since this seems to be the first conversation I have been able to find about Linkvana without someone trying to get a commission I wonder about Linkvana. I mean you post articles with a single link to a part of your website but if you are posting to 100s of blogs using the same article it is duplicate content and gets ignored, right? So how do you use Linkvana to get results.

Just an update. Today I noticed some stats on my Linkvana control panel (they have always been there, but I have not paid a lot of attention to them). The average number of posts per project in the Linkvana network is 15 (my average is 70 per project); the average number of live posts per Linkvana user is 182 (mine is over 3000!). No wonder so many are disappointed in Linkvana! They not making many posts!

Adam, yes it is a lot. But it comes down to you get what you pay for. I assume it is $150 (actually its really $147!) because the blogs in their network are PR2 to PR5. There are other networks similar to Linkvana, but the quality of blogs is no where near as close to Linkvana's. The link juice from the Linkvana links is simply greater than that of others. Give is a try for a month or so, but do not expect miracles in the short term. I just see it as a long term investment in the long term moneitization of the forums.

That is disappointing. My real success with Linkvana has been getting a forum thread that may be already ranked on page 2 or 3 of Google to page one. It also appears to be helpful to get newer forum threads indexed and ranking well for the long tail searches rather than target a specific keyword.

I would not try to use Linkvana for the forums primary keyword (as I find the long tail searches to be more beneficial) and there is a lot of competition for that keyword. For eg, for one of the forums, all those on page one for the keyword are very active with their own SEO and link building. If I started using Linkvana to compete, I will only be holding my own top of page two results. I beating them in the deep links and long tail searches! Interesting, all the deep linking has allowed me to keep the top of page two ranking for the main keyword despite the competitors link campaigns!

Linkvana will also not work in isolation; other strategies also need to be used.

That is one of the frustrating things with link building...your competitors are probably doing it as well, so you just have to do it smarter rather than play a never ending escalation of who can get the most.

I've used LinkVana for almost 6 months now with NO increase in my rankings at all. And yes, I did my keyword research ahead of time. And no, I wasn't building the links too fast.
